MAPS OF PARIS: In every metro station, at the ticket counter, you can pick up a free map of Paris with all Metro/RER & bus lines. Ask:"avez-vous un plan de Paris s’il vous plaît ?". There is a small map (petit plan) and a big one (grand plan) easier to read. You can ask for both.

WATER: Water is drinkable everywhere in Paris (bathroom tap, public green fountains in gardens…). Have always a small plastic bottle with you and just refill it when you need. Except where the source is marked “eau non potable”.
